World Class Green Charity Poker Tournament

Steve,
Nice to chat with you today about your Green Fest. As I mentioned, EGM Green makes the world's 1st and only Eco-Friendly poker tables, and maybe we can get a poker tourney going for charity. I will talk with my friends in the industry to see who will be in town that weekend and get back to you.
Have a good Sunday
Have Fun!

Let's Get Organized

Greetings everyone! The snow day yesterday meant that we weren't able to get together to work on our BIG EVENT! Every day students ask me how they can get involved, so we will be meeting this coming Friday, March 6 during flex in the cafe.

Down Easter Alexa, By Billy Joel

Well I'm on the Downeaster "Alexa"

And I'm cruising through Block Island Sound
I have charted a course to the Vineyard
But tonight I am Nantucket bound

We took on diesel back in Montauk yesterday
And left this morning from the bell in Gardiner's Bay
Like all the locals here I've had to sell my home
Too proud to leave I worked my fingers to the bone

So I could own my Downeaster "Alexa"
And I go where the ocean is deep
There are giants out there in the canyons
And a good captain can't fall asleep

I've got bills to pay and children who need clothes
I know there's fish out there but where God only knows
They say these waters aren't what they used to be
But I've got people back on land who count on me

So if you see my Downeaster "Alexa"
And if you work with the rod and the reel
Tell my wife I am trawling Atlantis
And I still have my hands on the wheel

Now I drive my Downeaster "Alexa"
More and more miles from shore every year
Since they tell me I can't sell no stripers
And there's no luck in swordfishing here.

I was a bayman like my father was before
Can't make a living as a bayman anymore
There ain't much future for a man who works the sea
But there ain't no island left for islanders like me

Just invited Bobby Flay Think Big, don't hold back!

Hi Bobby,
We are throwing a green festival at the Sound School and Long Wharf Park in New Haven and would love to grill with you.  The Sound School is a regional vocational high school for agriculture and aquaculture...can we do a special on seafood and salads?
In one week we had 6 bands sign up and I have every intention of  creating the largest musical event in New Haven's history. And whats a festival with out food. The school is located on Oyster point and many of the schools waterfront buildings were used by the industry.

Of course some organic beef is always welcome.  Bobby you are my first choice and know you are a very busy guy, but I will wait a week before asking anyone else.  Really look forward to hearing from you.  It is  a benefit but since it involves food I am sure we could figure out how to make it financially viable for you. Perhaps your company could cater it.  The location would allow tens of thousands of people to literally walk to the festival.

Thank you for your consideration

GREEN FEST! Battle of the bands, Talent Show, sidewalk sale and oyster fest rolled into one!

Join us in creating  a spectacular event to support the Sound School's efforts to go green.   An alternative high school for Aqua/agriculture students. The school has 5 buildings and over 100,000 sf on  a beautiful waterfront section of New Haven Harbor.  What a view, reasonable amount of parking, restaurant at one end of the street, roof top band stand on top of library, next door to 2 ball fields and Long Wharf Park (waterfront open space with trails), location rich in history.  Check it out on google maps

Battle of the bands, block party, booths for green, healthy, holistic, organic, sustainable and energy efficient vendors, organic bake sale, school store, plant sale, rain barrels and much more ...click on the comments below to view or add additional ideas.
Raising awareness and money for the greening of The Sound School!

Ask and you will recieve...never know someone might write  a song for/about you.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77HFEy2ORFE

To get what you have never had, you must do what you have never done.

At 211 degrees water will sit still. at 212 degrees it will boil, create steam and move a locomotive.

One voice can be lost in a crowd, or it can be directed to inspire. I shared my battle of the bands concept with 2 classes, they told over 500 people in one week. Your memos can inspire others to help you make great changes at your school, what you learn from the project could change the course of your life.

Please post your memos and share them with the world.

Yesterday I picked up the phone and called the sales director of MTV he is now reviewing this blog and our facebook info. Lets post those memos and show him that we have an exciting bunch of kids that are worthy of being featured on MTV.

Reach for the stars and never give up on your dreams!
